It’s Thursday and we haven’t made it to plan “z” ……….yet!
Have you ever planned for 48 people and had 55 show up? That’s how it’s been in the craft room all week. We have 48 crafts but 55 kids show up each day. The good news is we only have one more day of camp and we are only up to plan “R”, which is Ron Cooney drawing Disney characters. The kids love the characters, but they love Ron more….
Each day we’ve had to come up with an alternate craft. Today was by far the best impromptu craft of all-paper airplanes!
It was fun watching the team furiously folding 55 airplanes before camp began. At the end we had 55 airplanes of all shapes and sizes.
After the kids decorated their airplanes Pat and I took the kids outside and had a plane flying contest. It was smiles and high fives all around!

I think you’ve hit on a great idea…let your first grade students create paper airplanes for a craft project. You’ll be voted “Teacher of the Year”! Tell Laney that we do have email and Facebook that she could write to us once in awhile

Sounds like so much fun! I bet they just loved it. We will continue to pray for you and all that you are doing in the Ukraine. Glad to hear that you have had 55 students show up. Good job on the quick thinking for extra craft activities.

Paper airplanes! Genius! I was once threatened by my 3rd grade teacher that she would keep me after school and make me construct 500 paper airplanes if she saw me make and launch JUST ONE MORE! I get a great deal of pleasure with paper airplanes being listed at a CRAFT for SCHOOL CHILDREN.
